Handmade Seashore Wreaths
Handcrafted
in Rhode Island
Our handmade seashore wreaths are grapevine (natural or painted white), and are embellished with white hemp rope and a fabric-covered loop for hanging. These delicate wreaths are for indoor decorating.
All wreaths are one-of-a-kind. Shells I use include boat shells (Crepidula porcellana), baby conch shells, scallop shells, oyster shells, soft-shell clamshells, cherrystone clam shells, cockle shells, baby quahog shells, donax shells, moon shells, nassa shells, and volutes. Most shells are combed from the shores of Sabin Point in upper Narragansett Bay, just outside my door. These shells are sanitized by scrubbing in soapy water, then bleaching.
Most of the wreaths are painted white; some are left unpainted. If you prefer a wreath painted in a specific color, I can do that. Contact me!
8” painted wreath $35 (unpainted $30)
10" painted wreath $45 (unpainted $40)
UPS shipping costs are additional.

The Process

Step 1:
Source Shells
I hunt on the beach near my house to find interesting-looking shells.

Step 2:
Prepare the Wreaths
I buy grapevine wreaths and paint most of them a pleasing white. I add a bit of white cotton rope to enhance the nautical look and feel.

Step 3:
Finishing Touches
I source accent shells that I feel add to the beauty of each wreath.

How it all began . . .
I retired. I was bored. I started collecting seashells at the beach at Sabin Point In Riverside, Rhode Island, where I live.
I redecorated the guest room in my house and one wall needed something special -- I thought a wreath would be perfect! But not one that was store-bought . . . so I created my first wreath, using those pretty shells that I found.
